Why Oil ?

By Editor - Posted on 27 March 2008

Today everyone talks about Oil, Oil Politics, Oil Policies, and the impact of Oil on the world. For some reason we just cannot escape a discussion about Oil. But what does that mean ? Is Oil really that important ? isn't it just as simple as pumping oil at the gas station and paying for it ? Why is then Oil such a big thing ? Well here are some reasons:-

Oil is the worlds most important commodity.

Almost everything today runs on Oil. Power Plants, Aeroplanes, Cars, Trains, Bikes, factories... just name it.

Consider a world without Oil. No power, No gas, No products on supermarket shelves, no supermarkets, No travelling (not by a gas powered vehicle), no baby food, no cell phones (they were made in factories powered by

Oil power Stations and used Oil derived by products), No plastic in any form or shape (imagine all things made of plastic that we use everyday !).. and the list goes on. The United states becomes poor and loses its status as the superpower. Nobody else can claim the seat as the superpower anyway's without Oil. Every nation in the world (apart from non oil fueled ones = None) goes into turmoil.

How would we even survive the world we live in ? being used to so many things around us from refrigerators to travelling to diapers to what not, it would be catastrophic to be without Oil.

In simple words, Oil runs the world we live in and we simply cannot survive without it !
